Thanks to the authors of Underestimated, JT found Spellers San Diego in 2020. His first open statement was to get out of the silence. It took JT two years to spell openly on the stencil. JT is now spelling on a keyboard. And with the help of his friends at Spellers San Diego, JT is trying to spell independently using electronic devices. 

JT is dedicated to helping others also get out of their silent prison. JT designed the We Spell app based on his experience to acquire fluency and he believes We Spell will help others progress more efficiently to an electronic device. With thousands of non speakers JT feels it is important the app be accessible without cost.

Programming and designing the We Spell app based on instructions from my brothers has been an unbelievable experience. Only three years ago, we were led to believe my brothers had a 1st grade intelligence level. I am grateful to Spellers San Diego for freeing my brothers from their unbearable cage. I’m gratified to be able to take direction from them and build this amazing App to help their peers. I wish you all well and cannot wait to see you all show the world your amazing genius.

I’m a verbal speller. I am working on obtaining my high school diploma. I am trying very hard to spell decently without a CRP.   In my spare time,  I like to go to different amusement parks. I wish you sweet success on your spelling endeavors. Your new life is now your own.
